Our Focus Areas
Living Well Insights focuses on areas where health inequalities, lack of understanding, and systemic barriers have the greatest impact on people’s lives. Our focus areas are shaped by community insight, lived experience, and evidence — ensuring our work remains relevant, compassionate, and impactful.
Health Inequalities & Prevention
Living Well Insights addresses preventable health inequalities that disproportionately affect marginalised communities in the UK, particularly Black communities and diaspora families. We focus on early understanding, prevention, and health literacy — recognising many poor outcomes are avoidable when people have access to clear, culturally relevant information and supportive systems.
We Aim To:
- Raise awareness of preventable illness
- Support early understanding, prevention, and informed decision-making
- Challenge misinformation and harmful health narratives
- Advocate for equitable, person-centred health systems
Culturally Inclusive Health Information
We co-create health information that is clear, culturally relevant, and rooted in dignity — ensuring people feel seen, respected, and empowered to make informed decisions.
We Aim To:
- Easy to understand and jargon-free
- Culturally relevant and community-informed
- Accessible across different literacy levels
- Designed to build trust and confidence
Carers, Older Adults & Dignity in Care
We support carers, older adults, and families navigating later life, ageing, and changes in health or cognition. We recognise the vital role of unpaid carers and the importance of care that protects dignity, identity, and human connection.
We Aim To:
- Promote respect, dignity, and autonomy in later life
- Support unpaid carers and families with accessible guidance
- Improve understanding of memory loss and cognitive change
- Advocate for human-centred, compassionate approaches to care
Community Education & Capacity Building
We deliver community education that builds confidence, knowledge, and long-term capacity to improve health and wellbeing. We design workshops and facilitated learning spaces with communities and local partners.
We Aim To:
- Build confidence and understanding around health and wellbeing
- Support community leaders and grassroots organizations
- Strengthen local capacity for sustainable change
- ncourage open, respectful dialogue around sensitive health issues
Storytelling, Memory & Legacy
We use storytelling to support memory, identity, and emotional wellbeing — particularly for older adults and families affected by change, loss, or declining health. Through programmes such as Echoes of Us, we create safe spaces for stories to be shared, honoured, and preserved.
We Aim To:
- Honour lived experience and personal stories
- Support memory, identity, and emotional connection
- Strengthen intergenerational relationships
- Preserve legacy respectfully and ethically
